Momentis Just Energy Compensation Review

Once again, I am going to do a review of another energy deregulation business, namely Momentis Just Energy. I am doing these reviews and going through each company because I, like you, who are doing research on these companies considering joining, are very interested in the energy deregulation business opportunity. As I have said before, I DO NOT blame you! When you think about it, this industry is ALL about residual income generated from residuals off electricity and natural gas payments. ALL those payments in ONE MONTH in the United States totals $50+ Billion. I would LOVE to get a slice of that as residual income. And with that large a number, it would NOT take that high a percentage to enjoy a true residual income.

In doing this research on the various companies out there, I have grown to really LOVE the industry, but I can really see through the various companies “cloudy information” regarding residual payments from electricity and natural gas. Unfortunately, many people, because of hype and excitement of the industry itself, do not do their due diligence in researching the company that is brought to them. Regardless of who it is that introduces them into the industry. Unfortunately, not all companies are giving the affiliate, the broker or representative of the company a fair shake in the residual income.

Plus If you are like me, I really like to evaluate a company from the stand point of the affiliate or in this case as an energy broker of Ignite Stream Energy.  I do this because we would put invest the same amount of time, energy, effort and especially money into what ever energy company we join.  The question then is are we getting the best return of investment of our time, energy, effort and money.  Don’t you agree?

Momentis Just Energy Compensation Plan Review

I have been searching and searching for the residual income payout for electricity and natural gas with various companies, like Momentis Just Energy and I swear I couldn’t find ANYTHING. Some of these companies acted like that information was classified and stored in a secret vault in Washington, D.C. and the only access was a Presidential pass that was voted on by Congress to get access to it. Well there is a good reason why that information can’t be found.

One day I was asked if I knew anything about Momentis Just Energy. I told the person to contact me and not to join until we had talked. I knew enough to at least give them the information I had found.

Unfortunately, they had joined Momentis Just Energy already, but we still talked about the information that we DID know. Long story short, they agreed with me that this industry is ALL about residual income from electricity and gas. If you are not getting residual income from energy, then what are you doing this business for?

To make a long story short, I was placed on a 3 way call with a top producer in Momentis Just Energy, the company not just by name or title; and I asked them some very pointed questions about residual income from energy sales. I asked them what is the residual that I walk out of a house with when I am able to sell electricity and gas. Well they told me that it varied upon the level the person had achieved, but it ranges from .50 cents to $2 per utility but the $2 starts on levels 5 and 6. Then I asked well what about when I walk out of a business with energy sales. They told me that they are changing that, but it will be a percentage. I asked a percentage of what. They told me the bill.

Those answers burned my ears! I thanked them for their time and information.

Does Momentis Just Energy Pass The Residual Income Test?

First of all, when they explained the residual on their residential sales, that was amazingly similar to what they call their monthly residual income chart on the affiliate page. It describes different levels of the NETWORK you build and the monies you can get from the various levels as they grow. Well that is NOT residual income from electric and gas from residential sales. Honestly, that is income generated from the monthly fees of being an affiliate.

When it comes to commercial sales, they described a percentage of the bill that Momentis Just Energy pays. Well a straight out percentage from the entire bill is NOT possible! It is NOT sustainable! PLUS… I would BET that it is going to be similar to ACN’s pay structure where the affiliate would be a percentage of $125 of the commercial bill. To me, that is a cap to the residual income that I could make because I WANT to be paid on USAGE and NOT the bill or a portion of the bill. When you are paid on the USAGE that is a larger number than the bill amount. 1% of a large number is still a large number, and the usage in kwh or mcf is a LARGE number!

In this industry, the energy deregulation business, you SHOULD be looking for the residuals of residential and commercial energy sales. That is what you can build and grow, that is what you count on, that is what sustains long term income, LONG after the bonuses of recruiting stops.

Think about it!

Now admittedly, the jury is out on how they are changing the commercial compensation, so we will have to see, but I am SURE what I described above is the way it will be announced.

Momentis Just Energy Update 3/16/12

Since I originally wrote this post, there have been some changes with Momentis Just Energy and how their compensation plan works. They have finally made some adjustments to it so that is more honest and fair. That is a very good thing!

Now they are giving residual income to the sales that you make when you start out, where there were none before. When you go and check out the My Residual Income, NOW there is a level 0 where there was none before. On levels 2 and 3, you are only paid $.25 or $.50 when your team makes energy sales. With CCM, you wouuld get a full dollar on residential sales of each electricity and natural gas. Which would you want for your investment of time and energy to build a team?
I guess you begin to make up for that when you have a level 5 in your organization.

Getting to commercial or business energy sales, small to large; I assume that you are getting paid a percentage of the bill or energy supply cost ( which is just the rate times the usage which is always smaller than the usage). Well why would I want to get paid on the bill? By the vary nature of what the energy deregulation business is about, we LOWER the bill! You NEVER want to get paid on the bill! You want to get paid on the USAGE, which is always a larger number than the bill and because the bill is LOWERED, the USAGE tends to go up!

You want to get paid on a growing number not a shrinking number….that make sense to you?

So I give them credit for that, however, it still falls short of the lucrative Consumer Choice Marketing Compensation Plan. CCM pays better on residential and ESPECIALLY on businesses small to large.

Plus when you consider the ability to get $18,000 in bonuses over and over and OVER AND OVER AGAIN….with NO LIMIT! You have to consider CCM!

But the bonuses are the immediate income while it is the energy residuals that creates that long term permanent income that you are looking for when it comes to the energy business. Don’t you agree?

So Momentis Just Energy fails MY residual income test and maybe it will fail yours. Do you want to do the same amount of work and NOT get paid residual income off electric and gas sales? I know I don’t, and if you think about it, you should not either!

If I am NOT getting paid commissions on the sales of electricity and natural gas from residential and commercial in Momentis Just Energy, I would not be in that company.
This is the WHOLE POINT of this industry.
